- CHECK THE TYRES.
The first and foremost thing to do is to inspect the tyres. Make sure that the tyres are well inflated and there is no sign of wear and tear. The tyres should also be properly aligned. Also, the spare tyre should be inspected.
- LOOKOUT FOR THE FLUIDS.
You must keep a check on the fluids. Your car must have ample amount of engine oil, brake fluid, antifreeze, windshield washer, transmission fluid and power steering fluid. Believe me, you do want to run out of them in the middle of your happy trip.
- INSPECT THE WIPERS AND THE LIGHTS.
It is really important to double check the wipers and the lights. Make sure that the wipers are working well and not leaving a trail of smudge. You surely do not want an unclear visibility! Also be sure that the headlights, taillights, brake lights and turn signals are working well. You certainly do not want to regret later!
- CHECK THE BRAKES.
Have a thorough check on the brake system. Be sure that the brakes are functioning well and the brake pads have a long life.
- BE HIGH ON CHARGE.
Make sure that your car battery system is charged. The battery should be strong with clean terminals. The last thing you wish is your car breaking down in the middle of nowhere!
- EXAMINE THE CONDITIONING SYSTEMS.
Make it a priority to conduct a check on the heater and air conditioning system. Be sure they are working well without any stoppage.
- INSPECT THE COOLING SYSTEM.
It is indeed one of the important thing to do before your trip. Have a check done on the cooling system. The cooling system should not have any leakage, weak hoses or old fluid.
- OTHER IMPORTANT INSPECTIONS.
Some other things that need not be ignored are the transmission service, timing belt replacement and power steering service. Do not overlook them and get them done before you are on the road.
For a convenient and trouble-free trip, follow these tips religiously and you are good to go!
